Jukka and I started our travel wednesday morning from Helsinki airport. We were lucky to arrive there with plenty of time ahead because at the check in we found out that our names were not on the passenger list. When we went to sort it out at the Air France desk, they told us that our travel agent hadden't secured our flights and that's why our reservations were canceled. The Air France lady was very helpful though and she made new reservations for us because there were some seats left on the flights we were to take. On the flight from Paris to Hanoi we had double reservations and this we found out while making the transfer check. So there was some trouble with our tickets. The long flight from Charles de Gaulle to Hanoi went smoothly much of it thanks to the excellent service of Vietnam airlines. We were satisfied with the catering and the private tv/nintendo every passenger had on their seat. In the airplane I said to Jukka that this is the best ariline I have ever flew on. I changed my mind when we got to Hanoi. It turned out that Vietnam airlines had lost my luggage and they had no information at all about it in their computer. So I signed some papers got some copis and off we were to Maija's house. It it so nice to have a home to stay at when all your personal belongings are gone. Maija took us shopping and I got to buy all the necessary things like toothbrush, some underware and clothing. After we had some beers in a typical vietnamese bar where you sit on the street.

The city of Hanoi has 5 million inhabitants. There are a lot of motorbikes and skooters here, and the traffic is crazy. It takes some practicing to learn to cross the street safely. We haven't seen much ot the city yet, the french quarter and the central turtle lake area. What we have seen is beautiful. The streets are covered with water because it has been raining almost non stop since we got here.
