Our 20 hour buss trip from Hoi An to Saigon turned out to be quite an adventure. In Nha Trang the driver made us leave the buss because supposedly our tickets were bought from a different company. Eventually there came another buss to pick us up but it was completely packed. Space was made for us and the locals were made to sit in the middle aisle on little plastic seats.. not very fair is it? Everything seemed to go ok untill the police stopped the buss because the driver was driving 70km/h where the limit was 50km/h. Other busses were stopped aswell for speeding. The fine was 2 000 000 dong which is about 125 dollars. Our driver didn't have the cash so the buss was taken to a police station and the cops said that it will stay there for at least ten days. So there we were middle of nowhere on a highway with no clue what to do next.. and the worst thing about it all was that in the nearest bar they only sold warm beer. After one beer we thought that this is enough. It was saturday evening and we really wanted to see and experience the Saigon night life. We managed to stop a minivan and got a lift to the city for 80 000 dong (5 dollars). Saigon night life wasn't as wild as we thought it would have been but at least the bier was cold and cheap (Bia Hoi, the fresh beer costs about 15 cents per litre). This city is bigger than Hanoi and it has more of a cosmopolitan feeling.

a tank at the Cu Chi tunnels

We have done our last souvenir shoppings and today we went to see the Cu Chi tunnels of the Vietnamese Liberation Front. It was an interesting sight. Jukka went crawling in the tunnels. I tried to go aswell but the tunnels were so narrow and dark that just after a few minutes I  had a small panic attac. As an claustrophobic person I should have known better not to go there. This is our last day in Vietnam and tomorrow we will fly via Hanoi and Paris back to Finland.
